Allardyce gets support

26 July 2007 - 20:48

Newcastle's new chairman Chris Mort has given an approval to Sam Allardyce in the midst of his appointment as chairman ahead of Freddy Shepherd. Chris Mort is delighted with the signings made by Allardyce so far and is set to allow Allardyce room to make more signings in the transfer market.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Mort has indicated that Newcastle may require to sign more defenders before they are ready for the new season. The backing from the new chairman will be a boost for Allardyce for the new season.
