Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard has emerged as a potential January target for Newcastle United following their takeover.
The England international has been sparingly used by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this term, but he has still netted two goals.
Lingard's current deal expires at the end of the campaign, and he is reportedly reluctant to sign a renewal without regular game time.
Hence, he could leave on a cut-price deal in January, and the Magpies have emerged as contenders after the recent change of owners.
A consortium headed by Saudi's Public Investment Fund took control of the club earlier this week, and they are expected to spend heavily.
Lingard is one of the prime targets for them for the winter transfer window, but it is unclear whether he will consider a possible transfer.
He rejected them for a loan move to West Ham United in January. The scenario has now completely changed with the takeover.
Lingard could be lured by the Magpies with a significant pay hike.
