He has three years left on his existing deal, but reports claim that he could head for the exit door at the end of the campaign.

A number of elite European clubs are keeping tabs on him, and it is reported that the Gunners are weighing up a summer move.

Nkunku can play anywhere in midfield or in the number 10 role. Arteta is understood to be a huge admirer of his versatile qualities.

The midfielder was heavily linked with the north London club when he was at Paris Saint-Germain, but a deal never materialised.

He has since developed into a quality midfielder with a goal scoring presence, and he is bound to attract plenty of bids next summer.
