Manchester United duo want assurances of playing time

Van de Beek and Bailly to hold showdown talks with Solskjaer

Manchester United duo want assurances of playing time

28 October 2021 - 21:03

Manchester United duo Donny van de Beek and Eric Bailly want more clarity about their playing roles at the club.

  • Chelsea defender back in training ahead of Man Utd game
  • Chelsea keen on re-signing former graduate
  • Van de Beek joined the Red Devils from Ajax last year, but he has since played just over 500 minutes in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Bailly signed a new contract earlier this year with the assurance that he would be competing for a starting role.

However, the Ivorian has hardly played for the club this season, partly influenced by the summer signing of Raphael Varane.

According to The Sun, both players are concerned over their respective futures, and plan to hold showdown talks with the manager.

They want to know about his playing prospects going forward, particularly with the World Cup coming up in Qatar next year.

Van de Beek has already been dropped by Netherlands, and he has no chance of retaining his spot unless he plays regularly.

Bailly has been a regular starter for Ivory Coast, but can't take things lightly with the emergence of Sinaly Diomande and Odilon Kossounou.
