Aston Villa linked with Maggio

Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Christian Maggio, the defender part owned by Fiorentina and Sampdoria. The full back is valued at around £3 million. Maggio has revealed he is flattered by Villa's interest.

"It is a strange feeling to read these things," a flattered Maggio told Tuttosport.



"I never knew it had happened, not until this point at least. But it's nice knowing that such an important club followed me as it's a demonstration that your work is being appreciated. But I live for the day, even if the dream is beautiful."



Maggio has represented the Italian youth sides and is also being chased by Genoa and French side Rennes.
