West Ham United plan fresh move for Manchester United ace

West Ham to re-sign Lingard in January?

West Ham United plan fresh move for Manchester United ace

09 November 2021 - 20:52

West Ham United will make a fresh attempt to sign Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard this winter, Eurosport claims.

  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder

  • The England international had a superb loan spell with the Hammers earlier this year, bagging nine goals and six assists.

He was touted to rejoin them permanently over the summer, but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decided against sanctioning his sale.

Lingard was also content to stay put, but the decision has not proved worthwhile with his lack of regular first-team football.

The 28-year-old has netted twice in just 63 league minutes for United, but Solskjaer has still continued to keep him on the bench.

With his contract expiring next summer, United may look to cash in on his services in January as he is unlikely to pen an extension.

He was reportedly valued at around £30m earlier this year, but could be available for half the price during the winter transfer window.

The Hammers are flying high in the Premier League this season in third, and they appear in pole position to re-sign Lingard.
