Spurs draw offers Bolton hope

Spurs draw offers Bolton hope

26 April 2008 - 16:44

Bolton secured a point at White Hart Lane against Tottenham on Saturday in a game that finished 1-1 and keeps Bolton within grasp of Premiership safety, but there is still all to play for as four teams battle for survival.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Stelios came on and scored the opening goal, only for the Steed Malbranque - booed by his own supporters for most of the game - to level things late on.

The visitors were on the back foot for most of the first half but Spurs also struggled to make chances.

Bolton took just 30 seconds to open the scoring into the second when Michael Dawson failed to clear a long ball, Gretar Steinsson whipping in a cross towards the far post where Stelios Giannakopoulos slotted home.

Tottenham took just six minutes to respond when Robbie Keane's shot on the turn took a fortunate deflection to run through for Steed Malbranque, who couldn't miss from three yards out.

A point was valuable for Bolton who still need one more win to secure survival.
