Inter Milan make Romelu Lukaku transfer decision

Inter don't want to re-sign Lukaku

Inter Milan make Romelu Lukaku transfer decision

25 February 2022 - 20:39

Inter Milan have no plans of re-signing Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku during this summer's transfer window.

  • Chelsea have discussed move for Alejandro Garnacho
  • Newcastle make bid for Chelsea defender

  • Lukaku had a terrific campaign for the Nerazzurri last term, bagging 30 goals from 44 appearances in all competitions.

As a result, they won the Scudetto after a decade-long wait, but the Belgian left them soon after to reunite with the Blues.

Lukaku started this season brilliantly with three goals in as many games, but has netted just seven more from the next 25 outings.

Hence, he is no longer a guaranteed starter, but it appears unlikely that Inter will return for his services in the next transfer window.

The 28-year-old has openly said that he would like to return to San Siro at some point, but the Serie A outfit can't afford him.

They had to ease their financial burden by offloading him and Achraf Hakimi during last summer's transfer window.

Lukaku was sold for a hefty £97 million to the Blues. Inter don't have the funds for such a huge outlay ahead of next season.
