Manchester United have a keen interest in signing Atalanta centre-back Merih Demiral in the next transfer window.
The Red Devils were heavily linked with the Turkey international last summer, but he ended up joining Atalanta on loan.
He has since evolved into a key player for the Serie A outfit. The club have the option to buy him for around €25 million.
Atalanta are expected to trigger the buy clause, but Calciomercato claims that they could be open to selling him for a profit.
United have been admirers of Demiral for some time, but were wary of signing him last summer due to his injury record.
The 24-year-old has had no troubles for most of the current campaign, making 32 appearances across all competitions.
United pursued Raphael Varane from Real Madrid last summer, but still continue to have plenty of concerns at the back.
Harry Maguire has had a poor Premier League season, and there is plenty of talk of a new signing coming in to partner Varane.
