Italy forward Alessandro Del Piero has eyed a place in the Italian squad for the Euro 2008 tournament after yet another impressive season for the Juventus man.
"I think I have deserved a place at the European Championship with a beautiful season," he said.
"In the end (Italy coach) Roverto Donadoni will calmly make his decision, and he will bank on those who deserve it."
Del Piero is in the top five goalscorers in Serie A this year and has shown he can still cut the mustard in the top flight, and Donadoni looks set to recall the forward.
