Arsenal are planning a fresh approach for Porto striker Mehdi Taremi, according to Portuguese outlet O Jogo.

The Gunners were linked with the Iranian striker during the 2022 winter transfer window, but they decided against signing him.

The decision proved costly as they missed out on the top four and it is now claimed that they are back in the race for his services.

Arsenal are currently top of the Premier League table with a five-point lead, but they have a big task ahead to sustain the advantage.

Gabriel Jesus\' knee surgery is obviously a big blow for them and O Jogo claim that Taremi could be signed to fill the striker void.

Taremi will enter the final 18 months of his contract in January. He is likely to be sold by Porto if he decides against signing a renewal.

He could be available for €20m and would be a solid signing for Arsenal. The 30-year-old has 21 goal contributions for Porto this term.
