Chelsea and Manchester United have also expressed an interest in signing Arsenal target Joao Felix in January.
The Portuguese has struggled for regular first-team football under manager Diego Simeone and he is prepared to move on this month.
The Premier League is said to be his preferred destination and reports claim that Arsenal are leading the race to secure his services.
However, they could face competition from Chelsea and United, who are also in regular contact with Jorge Mendes, who is Felix's agent.
Atletico currently want a staggering fee of €15m for a six-month loan and none of the clubs are interested in matching their demands.
Despite this, there is regular speculation that Felix could end up in England. Atletico may come to a compromise in the coming weeks.
Felix does not want to work under Simeone at the moment and the Spanish giants could eventually lower their demands for his loan exit.
The Portuguese is open to returning to Atletico in the summer, suppose the club decide to dismiss Simeone from the head coach position.
