Chelsea have reportedly made an official bid to sign Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries this month.
The 26-year-old has been regularly linked with a Premier League move and he could head to Stamford Bridge soon.
According to La Repubblica, the Blues have now made a formal bid of around €35 million to land the right-back.
The proposal has been rejected by the Nerazzurri and it is claimed that they need to offer €55 million to sign him.
The Blues currently have a top-class right-back in the form of Reece James, but he is just returning from an injury.
Hence, they need to balance his workload over the coming weeks and Dumfries would be a solid competitor.
He may not come with the same pedigree as James but the Dutchman has built his reputation as an attacking full-back.
He would perfectly suit the west London giants as he is well accomplished to playing in the right wing-back role.
Manchester United have also been linked with the former PSV Eindhoven star.
