Arsenal's latest signing Jorginho has said that manager Mikel Arteta had a big influence in his move from Chelsea.
The Italian made the switch across London after four-and-a-half seasons with the Blues and he is now excited to work under the Gunners boss
Arteta has been a big admirer of Jorginho from his Napoli days. He was keen on bringing him to Manchester City when he was their assistant.
The Spaniard made another attempt to sign him three years ago at Arsenal. Jorginho has now acknowledged that Arteta was key to the transfer.
He told Arsenal.com: "He was a big influence because I know that he tried a few times to get me before and it didn't happen due to other reasons, not because of my wishes. So of course, he had a big influence."
Jorginho has been brought in to provide cover to midfield duo Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey after the long-term injury for Mohamed Elneny.
