Sunderland eye up double swoop

Sunderland eye up double swoop

11 May 2008 - 23:48

Sunderland are preparing to capitalise on the relegation of Reading from the Premiership with a double swoop for two of the Royals' most impressive performers this season; Stephen Hunt and Kevin Doyle.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Kevin Doyle was on fire as Reading battled to a victory over Derby on the final day, but his goals this season have not been enough to keep Reading in the top flight and the player is set to leave the club.

Meanwhile, Stephen Hunt too has had a good season for the Royals and has already suggested a move is likely.

Sunderland boss Roy Keane had hinted that he is in discussions with his board with regard to transfer funds and targets this summer; and a £10 million offer for the pairing could be enough to secure the signature of both from the Championship destined Royals.
