Liverpool have reached an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.
The Merseyside giants identified the Argentine as their priority target earlier this year and they have now finalised a deal.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the Reds will pay around £45m for the 24-year-old which is less than his £60m release clause.
Mac Allister should be a brilliant signing for Jurgen Klopp's side, who have lacked creativity from the centre of the park.
The arrival of Mac Allister should provide a huge boost for them. The World Cup winner can play anywhere in midfield.
In the recent campaign, he was in brilliant form for the Seagulls, scoring 12 goals and registering three assists in 40 games.
He was also excellent in the defensive scheme of things. Mac Allister won an impressive two tackles and 5.5 duels per outing.
The Argentine should be a guaranteed starter for the Reds next season, where they will be aiming to challenge for the title again.
