The Senegal international joined the Blues from Napoli for £34 million last summer, and he received a good reception from the fans.

However, the 31-year-old had a difficult debut season. He struggled to cope with the league\'s intensity, making many positional errors.

The Blues are now open to cutting their losses on him and Fabrizio Romano claims that the Nerazzurri are exploring a summer transfer.

The Serie A giants are expected to lose Milan Skriniar to Paris Saint-Germain once his contract expires at the end of the month.

They have identified Koulibaly as a potential replacement, but it is unclear whether they can afford his current wages of £295,000-a-week.

Inter are likely to propose a season-long loan deal. A permanent transfer may depend on Koulibaly accepting a significant salary cut.

Koulibaly has also been linked with a possible reunion with Napoli. The Naples outfit are only exploring a temporary deal for him.
