Chelsea have reportedly turned down an opening bid from Manchester United for midfielder Mason Mount.
The England international will enter the final year of his Blues contract next month and he has no plans to extend his stay.
Hence, he is expected to be sold by the Blues, but the club are reluctant to lose him on the cheap for now.
According to The Telegraph, United recently made a £40m bid for Mount, but the offer was swiftly rebuffed.
Chelsea currently value their graduate at around £70m and they are reluctant to negotiate on the price tag.
However, their stance could change in the coming weeks, considering they need to balance their books by June 30.
The Blues have made no big-money sales thus far, and they could get desperate for funds in the coming weeks.
This could lead to the lowering of player valuations and United will be hoping to land Mount for around £50m.
Mount has already agreed terms over a move to Old Trafford.
