Manchester City are reportedly in advanced negotiations to sign Arsenal target Declan Rice this summer.
The Gunners have identified the Englishman as their midfield target, but they have yet to agree a fee with the Hammers.
They recently made a second bid of £75m plus £15m in add-ons, but the fixed fee would be paid over six seasons.
On the contrary, the Cityzens are prepared to pay the fixed sum over two years, and this has made them favourites.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Premier League champions are now in advanced talks to sign the 24-year-old.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal respond with an improved third offer. The Hammers are hoping for a bidding battle.
Rice has kept his options open for his next move. He was initially keen on Arsenal, but has now welcomed City's interest.
The Hammers could make a decision in a few days such that they can look into pursuing a replacement for their captain.
