Manchester United have reportedly turned down a loan proposal from West Ham United for defender Harry Maguire.
The England international was recently axed from the captaincy role, and he is now expected to leave the Red Devils.
West Ham have been following him since the turn of the year, but their loan proposal has been rejected by United.
Maguire is up for sale in the current transfer window and the club are reluctant to accept any other offers for the centre-back.
Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have also been linked with Maguire, but his wages are a stumbling block.
While the trio could afford the £30 million asking price, none are expected to pay his current £190,000-a-week salary.
Maguire currently has two years left on his existing deal, and United may need to hand him a huge pay-off to sell him.
They could face a similar situation with the likes of Anthony Martial, Eric Bailly and Scott McTominay this summer.
