Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay looks set to continue with the club following an injury to Kobbie Mainoo.
The Scotland international was a fringe player for the Red Devils last term, and he is currently considering his options.
West Ham United are said to be interested in signing him, but a transfer could be difficult following Mainoo's injury setback.
The 18-year-old has been a revelation for United in pre-season, but he is now sidelined for the first half of the new campaign.
He suffered an ankle injury in the recent friendly against Real Madrid, and the setback will keep him out of action until January.
As a result, United are set to block the departure of McTominay, though they could still invest on another midfielder.
The club are currently keen on landing the services of Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina, but the deal depends on player sales.
The Serie A outfit are prepared to part ways with Amrabat for around £30m. United are yet to make an official bid for him.
