Man Utd want to sign Man City star in January

Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a surprise swoop for Manchester City left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri during the winter transfer window.

The Red Devils have barely done business with the Cityzens in their long history, but they were keen on a loan deal for Ait-Nouri before the transfer deadline last month.

Ait-Nouri was also open to moving across Manchester, but Enzo Maresca's side were reluctant to accept a straight loan proposal for the Algerian without any obligation to buy.

Africa Foot now claim United are prepared to make a fresh approach for the left-back in January, considering the lack of sufficient depth in the position at the moment.

United have had injury troubles with Luke Shaw and Patrick Dorgu this campaign, and this has left them desperately short, with no other senior option to rely upon regularly.

Hence, the Red Devils plan to return for Ait-Nouri at the turn of the year. They could propose a loan with a conditional buy clause this time.
