Chelsea have reached an agreement with Levi Colwill over a new long-term contract.
The 20-year-old is one of the best young centre-backs in the country, and the Blues are now on the verge of extending his stay.
Colwill's current deal expires in the summer of 2025, and he is now prepared to sign a new six-year contract with a huge pay rise.
The news is a big boost for the Blues. Colwill has immense potential, and he could be a leading defender in the Premier League.
He may not be guaranteed regular playing time next season, but the future is bright for him under manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Meanwhile, Colwill's new deal could hamper the Blues' chances of signing midfielder Moises Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Brighton are currently holding out for £100 million for their prized asset, but Chelsea are only willing to pay £80m at the moment.
The Seagulls have been open to negotiating a lower price if Colwill is included in the deal, but that is no longer a possibility.
Pochettino has made it clear that he wants Colwill in his squad.
