Milan look to Puyol

Milan look to Puyol

13 May 2008 - 12:15

Barcelona captain Carles Puyol is being lined up by new AC Milan President, Adriano Galliani, as the ideal replacement for outgoing captain Paolo Maldini.

  • Chelsea suffer big injury blow ahead of Everton game
  • Enzo Fernandez refuses to rule out Chelsea exit
  • The Italian side are already being heavily linked with moves for Barca stars Ronaldinho and Zambrotta and it seems as though they are now keen to bring in Puyol to sure up their ageing back four.

Galliani said: "Carles is a flag of the club of Catalunya; he will not be easy to sign, but fits faithfully into the portrait of a 'Milan footballer'.

"He's a great player, one hundred percent professional and he defends to the death the colors of the club that pays him."

It is thought that it would take an offer in excess of €20 million Euros to lure him away from the Camp Nou, but after such a disappointing season in Catalunya, the move certainly cannot be ruled out.
