Chelsea's busy summer spending spree will continue as today the club have been linked with a transfer for Lyon winger Bradley Barcola, with a 7-year contract rumoured for the 20-year-old winger. The starlet, who emerged through the club's youth ranks, has appeared 38 times in Ligue 1 for Lyon and has scored five goals.
Barcola has already represented France's under-20 and under-21 sides and has become a fan favourite in Lyon, but Chelsea's offer of a rumoured £40 million is likely to tempt the club into a sale. Barcola is comfortable playing as a right winger or as a forward, but his preferred position is as second striker.
Chelsea's deal for Crystal Palace star Michael Olise fell through, and now Mauricio Pochettino would like to bring in an alternative.
In Barcola, not only are Chelsea securing one of Europe's brightest young players, but a similar type of player to Olise.
Lyon have already rejected bids from Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund for Barcola in recent months, but Chelsea have almost doubled Dortmund's original offer.
