Borussia Dortmund have agreed a fee to sign Armel Bella-Kotchap from Southampton and will pay close to £20 million to sign the France-born centre-back. Bella-Kotchap has already made two appearances for Germany's national side, having come through the ranks in Germany as a youth player. Bella-Kotchap, 21, has previously played for VfL Bochum and is very familiar with the Bundesliga.
Southampton have already sold several players this summer, including Nathan Tella, James Ward-Prowse and Romeo Lavia, but Armel Bella-Kotchap was one of their players the St Mary's outfit hoped to keep hold of for a year in the Championship. That being said, Bella-Kotchap has his heart set on a return to his home country, and will do everything in his power to force through a move before the transfer deadline this week.
Dortmund have been impressed with the exciting defender's displays since his move to England, and are confident that a deal will be signed and sealed, as the player is likely to become a mainstay of the club's central defence for many years to come.
