Bayern Munich are reportedly favourites to sign Manchester United defender Raphael Varane next month.
The German champions will be short in the heart of the defence this winter with Kim Min-jae due to report for the Asian Cup with South Korea.
As a result, they are planning to spend on another centre-back and it is claimed that Varane is the top name on their wishlist.
Varane's current deal with United expires at the end of the campaign and the Red Devils have yet to decide on the extension clause.
It is claimed that the Red Devils may sanction his sale next month to avoid paying any loyalty bonuses for prolonging his stay.
Varane has also been linked with Real Madrid in recent weeks and the World Cup winner has a big decision to make this winter.
If United don't want him in their ranks, he could join either Bayern or Madrid. He would have to accept a pay-cut to leave.
