Erik ten Hag requests Man Utd to sign Argentine striker

13 February 2024 - 20:59

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has requested the club to sign Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez this summer, according to Fichajes.

  • Thiago Silva reacts after Chelsea's win at Brighton
  • Chelsea defender suspended for four games after red card

  • Martinez has been in sensational form for the Nerazzurri this season, scoring 22 goals and providing five assists across all competitions.

Despite this, there is uncertainty over his future at the club. The San Siro giants are yet to hand him an extension beyond June 2026.

They are yet to find the middle ground regarding his wages and the need to balance their books could urge them to sell him this summer.

Amidst this, it is claimed that Ten Hag has personally requested the Red Devils to sign him when the transfer window reopens.

Inter value their World Cup winner at more than €100 million and it is unlikely that they will provide a discount for his sale.

Arsenal and Chelsea are also long-term admirers of the marksman and they could join the pursuit if he becomes available for a move.

Ten Hag currently has a reliable striker Rasmus Hojlund, but he is determined to add a strong competitor for next season.
