Middlesbrough eye Huddlestone

Middlesbrough eye Huddlestone

17 May 2008 - 10:41

Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is hoping that Tottenham allow England under-21 starlet Tom Huddlestone to leave in the summer. The Boro boss is preparing a £6 million offer for the centre midfielder.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Villa trip

  • Huddlestone scored last night in England under-21's 2-0 victory and this season for Tottenham the midfielder has shown he is a very powerful, combative midfielder that would be a useful asset for any side.

Southgate is looking for a long term replacement for Fabio Rochemback - who signed for Sporting Lisbon - and Tom Huddlestone has emerged as the first option.

Tottenham have already signed Luka Modric this summer, and are believed to be looking to bring in more players. This could mean Huddlestone is likely to be the first to head for the exit door as Juande Ramos commences a summer clear out.
