Man Utd & Liverpool set to battle for Dutch right-back

Frimpong to EPL?

Man Utd & Liverpool set to battle for Dutch right-back

05 April 2024 - 20:20

Manchester United and Liverpool could battle it out for the signing of Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong this summer.

  • Gary Neville breaks silence on Ruben Amorim
  • Confirmed Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Brentford, Estevao absent

  • The Dutchman has been in brilliant form for the Bundesliga outfit and he has already registered 12 goals and 11 assists from right wing-back.

His form has caught the eye of many Premier League teams and Football Transfers claim that United and Liverpool are favourites.

The Red Devils are braced to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka when he enters the final year of his contract this summer. Frimpong is eyed as a replacement.

Liverpool have Trent Alexander-Arnold as the first-choice right-back when fit, but he could move into midfield if Frimpong were to join.

The former Celtic man is seen as a right-back at both clubs. His attacking attributes would make him an ideal fit for both of those teams.

Frimpong signed a new long-term contract at Leverkusen last summer, but it has a low release clause of £35 million active in July this year.
