Bournemouth boss blames referee after Man Utd draw

Iraola not impressed by refereeing decisions

Bournemouth boss blames referee after Man Utd draw

13 April 2024 - 20:32

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has hit out at the referee following the 2-2 draw against Manchester United in the Premier League.

  • Chelsea set £35m price to sell 20-goal striker
  • Arsenal considered favourites to sign Leipzig striker

  • The Cherries went into the game as favourites on the back of three wins at home and they scored the opener through Dominic Solanke.

Bruno Fernandes pulled one goal back for the Red Devils, but the Cherries managed to regain the lead through Justin Kluivert before the break.

In the second half, United were fortuitous to pull level again from the penalty spot. Adam Smith was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box.

Right at the end, the Cherries were denied a penalty of their own. VAR adjudged that the contact was made before entering the box.

Speaking after the game, Iraola said: "We didn't take our chances, we had chances to finish with a better result."

"All the refereeing decisions were against us today.

"I can't understand the decisions. I did not think it was a penalty from Adam Smith. I disagree.

"These are important points, same way they are important for United they are important for us."
