Rooney wants Tevez stay

19 May 2008 - 09:53

Wayne Rooney believes there should be no reason why Carlos Tevez cannot stay at Man Utd. Tevez is on loan at the Red Devils, and the Argentinian striker is owned by sports agency MSI.

  • Chelsea make Malo Gusto transfer decision
  • Arsenal favourites to sign 26yo Newcastle star?
  • "I don't see why that shouldn't happen," said Rooney. "Carlos enjoys playing his football here.

"Carlos is a great player and works really hard for the team. I had no doubts at all we could play together.

"From his first day in training with us, you could see the qualities he had.

"I couldn't wait to play alongside him. He's been brilliant, he's a battler, he works so hard for the team - it's been unbelievable."
