Arsenal could make a surprise move for Barcelona defender Mikayil Faye who has yet to make his senior debut.
The Gunners are aiming to bolster their squad this summer and they are eyeing a young defender who can play in central defence or at left-back.
Faye has now emerged as a potential target for the north London giants and they could sign him for a fee of around £17 million.
Barcelona rate the teenager very highly, but they are prepared to sanction his sale as they need to balance their books by June 30.
Arsenal are not alone in the pursuit of the Senegal international. Chelsea and Manchester United are also keeping tabs on him.
Napoli are likewise admirers from the Italian top-flight and a transfer may eventually depend on the amount of playing time.
Arsenal may not guarantee Faye with a starting role in central defence, but the left-back position could be up for grabs for him.
The Gunners are currently looking at selling Oleksandr Zinchenko.
