Chelsea have confirmed the appointment of Enzo Maresca as their new manager from Leicester City.
The Blues had a strong end to last season under manager Mauricio Pochettino, but the Argentine decided to mutually part ways.
Pochettino was not impressed with the transfer policy of signing young players and he opted to end his association with the Blues.
The club have now signed Maresca as his successor.
A statement read: "Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Enzo Maresca as new head coach of the men’s team."
Maresca has put pen-to-paper on a five-year contract with an option for another year. He is expected to have the complete backing.
Unlike other managers, the Blues are unlikely to evaluate his future after one season and will give Maresca time to prove himself.
The Italian is set to take charge of the club from July onwards. He will be hoping for a bright pre-season ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
