Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson could be sidelined for several weeks after suffering an ankle injury on international duty for Senegal.
The 22-year-old joined the Blues from Villarreal with plenty of hype, but he struggled to find consistency for most of the campaign.
He still ended up with 17 goals. It is now reported that Jackson may not be fit for pre-season after suffering a serious ankle issue.
The news is a huge blow for the Blues, who have yet to sign a marquee striker. They are currently assessing their options.
Christopher Nkunku and Armando Broja are currently the choices other than Jackson, but the latter is expected to be sold soon.
Nkunku is a very talented marksman, but there are still doubts whether the Frenchman can stay fit over a prolonged period of time.
Chelsea have identified RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko as a potential striker candidate, but they face stiff competition from Arsenal.
The Gunners could be in pole position to land the Slovenian star due to their progress and Champions League qualification.
