Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has directly spoken with Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee to convince him over a transfer.
The Red Devils are determined to land a new marksman this summer and Zirkzee has been identified as the manager's prime target.
The club have already agreed terms with his agent over the commission and they are prepared to trigger the £34m release clause in his deal.
Amidst this, Ten Hag has personally spoken with Zirkzee regarding a transfer and there is optimism that the striker will give the green light.
Zirkzee has an apparent desire to join AC Milan in Serie A for continuity, but the Rossoneri have refused to meet his agent's demands.
Hence, he will have to choose a different destination and United are currently overwhelming favourites to land him from Bologna.
Arsenal were also credited with an interest earlier in the summer, but they have completely cooled their pursuit over the past few weeks.
