Croatia crush Andorra

12 September 2007 - 22:11

Croatia grabbed a 6-0 away victory over Andorra to all but seal their qualification for Euro 2008. The goals came from Srna, Petric (2), Kranjcar, Eduardo and Rakitic.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • Mladen Petric had scored four goals in the Croatian record-equalling 7-0 home win against David Rodrigo's side last October and the BV Borussia Dortmund player was again on target with two first-half strikes for the visitors. Darijo Srna, Niko Kranjèar, Eduardo da Silva and Ivan Rakitic were the other marksmen on a miserable day for Andorra, compounded by the 77th-minute dismissal of Genís García.

Srna scored the first with a deflected free kick which looped over the Andorra goalkeeper. Petric then looped a free kick over the wall and into the bottom left corner. Petric got his second as he volleyed the ball home into the bottom right corner. Arsenal striker Eduardo sent an impressive looking strike home to make it 4-0. Rakitic then sealed the result firing home for the fifth.

Croatia look a quality side and will be one of the favorites for Euro 2008.
