Liverpool are already in talks to sign Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong this summer, according to Bild.
The Merseyside giants currently have Trent Alexander-Arnold as their undisputed right-back, but there is uncertainty over his future.
His current deal expires in June 2025 with an option for another year. There is a possibility that he could pursue a new challenge next summer.
Amidst this, they are aiming to bolster the right-back department and talks are underway with the representatives of Frimpong over a transfer.
Frimpong largely played from the right wing-back role for Leverkusen last term. He was exceptional with 14 goals and 12 assists to his name.
He currently has a release clause worth €40m which expires this Sunday. Hence, Liverpool need to be quick to trigger the buy-out clause.
It is unlikely that Leverkusen will sell him for a similar price when the clause expires. They could demand a significant transfer package.
Manchester United and Manchester City are also admirers of Frimpong.
