Chelsea are interested in signing Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, who is also on the radar of Arsenal and Barcelona.
The west London giants have been active in the current transfer window, but they are yet to make a marquee acquisition.
The Athletic now claim that they are interested in landing Williams from Bilbao, but a deal won't be straightforward.
The La Liga outfit have no plans of negotiating on the price and want his €58m release clause in a single payment up front.
Arsenal and Barcelona are also keen on the Euro 2024 winner while the winger is expected to make a substantial wage demand.
Williams is already on wages worth €200,000 per week and he is expected to demand at least €300,000 weekly for a transfer.
Keeping this in mind, Chelsea have a potential roadblock. They will have to break their wage structure to secure Williams' signature.
If they are unwilling to do so, he could end up at Arsenal or Barcelona. Bilbao have not ruled out keeping him for next season.
