Chelsea are expected to confirm the signing of Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen next week, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues recently agreed to sign the 22-year-old for €24.5m and he has already undergone the first part of his medical in London.
Jorgensen will now travel to the United States for the second part of his medical before signing a long-term deal with the Blues.
Chelsea have had a poor pre-season thus far. They played out a 2-2 stalemate against Wrexham before losing 4-1 at the hands of Celtic.
The Blues still have to face Club America and Manchester City in the US tour. Jorgensen could make his debut in one of those games.
Robert Sanchez is the first-choice goalkeeper for manager Enzo Maresca, but Jorgensen has been signed to provide stiff competition.
The Denmark youth international is a strong ball-playing shot-stopper, but he is prone to making the occasional error with his distribution.
It remains to be seen how he will adapt to the Premier League.
