Manchester United have made a double transfer bid for Bayern Munich duo Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, according to David Ornstein.
The Red Devils are determined to bolster their defence further and they are keen on signing another centre-back and a right-back.
De Ligt and Mazraoui are the priority targets, but they have yet to find an agreement with Bayern for the highly-rated pairing.
Ornstein reports that Bayern have immediately rejected the proposal from United and the club will need to make a fresh offer.
The transfer fee remains undisclosed, but it seems Bayern are eyeing at least €70m to part ways with the duo this summer.
United are unlikely to pay such an amount, given they are well aware that Bayern need to recoup funds after recent spending.
Bayern have already made a handful number of signings and they are eyeing more deals before the transfer window shuts.
Bayer Leverkusen's Jonathan Tah is one of their top targets.
