Liverpool have deployed a scout to monitor the recent good form of Toronto FC's winger Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty, who has caught the eye with some impressive displays on the right-side of the Canadian outfit's team. The 20-year-old Ontario-born youngster has yet to force his way in to Canada's national team squad, but that has not deterred the Anfield giants from making a potential move for the versatile player.
It is understood that what attracts Liverpool's scouting team is Jahkeele's versatility, with the player comfortable playing as a right-back, right midfielder or as a right winger. The player's preferred position is on the right side of defence, but at Toronto has often been deployed further up the field in an attacking role.
Surprisingly, very few teams have shown interest in the player, despite a very impressive season in MLS last year, with the player often called upon from the bench but still returning four assists and one goal for his side.
Marshall-Rutty could be available for as little as £3.5 million as Toronto may not stand in the youngster's way should a dream move to the Premier League present itself.
