Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion on a permanent transfer.
The Blues opened talks for the 20-year-old earlier last month, but Atletico were reluctant to consider his departure.
However, the scenario recently changed after their decision to sign Julian Alvarez from Manchester City for £82m.
With the huge outlay, Atletico opened the door for Omorodion's exit. Chelsea have won the race to sign him for £34.5m.
Omorodion netted only eight goals during his loan spell at Alaves last term, but the Blues believe in his potential.
The youngster has a good physical and aerial presence. The Blues feel he can develop into an elite marksman.
The arrival of Omorodion at Stamford Bridge is expected to close the door on the club's pursuit of Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen has been a long-term target for the Blues, but they are unlikely to make a huge outlay after Omorodion's arrival.
The club could, however, seek to recoup funds from player sales.
