Man Utd star refuses to accept pay-cut to leave club

Lindelof won't accept pay-cut without pay-off

Man Utd star refuses to accept pay-cut to leave club

08 August 2024 - 21:44

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has refused to accept a pay-cut to secure a transfer away from Old Trafford.

  • Chelsea have discussed move for Alejandro Garnacho
  • Spanish star has arrived in London to complete Arsenal transfer

  • The Sweden international is currently one of the longest serving players at the club but his future is uncertain at the moment.

Lindelof has entered the final year of his contract and United's hierarchy have decided against discussing a new long-term deal.

Hence, they are prepared to sanction his sale for the best price, but they face a hurdle as the centre-back has no plans to accept a pay-cut.

Fenerbahce are currently leading the race to sign the former Benfica man, but they are reluctant to offer him more than £70,000 a week.

There is presently a difference of £50,000 compared to his United salary and he may require a pay-off to move to Istanbul this summer.

United need to offer a compensation in the region of £2.5m and it remains to be seen whether they do so in order to part ways with Lindelof.

Fenerbahce are willing to pay around £10m for his transfer.
