Arsenal want Pablo Barrera

Arsenal want Pablo Barrera

21 May 2008 - 00:03

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing young Mexican winger Pablo Barrera. The Gunners have had scouts watching him for over three months, and the player is close friends with other Mexican, Carlos Vela.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Barrera is comfortable playing on both the right flank and in the forward role, and Barrera is regarded in his homeland as one of the best up and coming players.

Currently playing for Pumas, the player is believed to be available for no less than around £5 million, a figure which Arsene Wenger will probably be reluctant to pay for a 20 year old who will be unlikely to appear in the first team for at least two years.

It is believed that the idea is to sign Barrera, and then send him on loan to Spain for two years so he can acquire a Spanish passport.
