Arsenal could go head-to-head with Chelsea to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen before the transfer window closes.
The Gunners have made just one outfield signing in Riccardo Calafiori this summer, but Mikel Merino is expected to join later this week.
The club could enter the transfer market for a marquee striker too and Arsenal are said to be considering an approach for Osimhen.
The striker's valuation has greatly reduced over the transfer window and Napoli are now willing to accept around €65 million.
Al-Ahli made a bid matching the price earlier this week, but Osimhen's agent has clarified that the striker does not want to leave Europe.
The news is a huge boost for the Gunners and reports claim that they could make a late swoop for his services amid Chelsea's interest.
Chelsea have also been long-term admirers of the Nigerian star, but they can only afford a loan deal with a buy option due to PSR issues.
