Man Utd decide against transfer for Chelsea defender

27 August 2024 - 21:35

Manchester United have no plans of signing Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell before the transfer window closes on Friday evening.

  • Chelsea open talks to sign Dortmund attacker
  • Arsenal want to sign German striker to replace Jesus

  • The England international is no longer in the plans of manager Enzo Maresca and he has been asked to pursue a new challenge.

United have been linked with him on multiple occasions, but reports claim that they are not keen on moving for the left-back.

The Red Devils are currently short in the left-back department with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia out of action with injuries.

However, the club have Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui, who are capable of operating on the right and left side of the back four.

United also promoted Harry Amass to the first-team after his brilliant pre-season and the 17-year-old can also provide some cover.

Shaw picked up a minor calf injury in pre-season training, but he is touted to return to first-team action after the international break.

With this in mind, United are not looking into a deal for Chilwell.
