Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that three players will be absent for the Carabao Cup third round tie against Barnsley at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils recently returned to winning ways with a 3-0 Premier League win over Southampton on the road. Matthijs de Ligt, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho found the back of the net.
They will be aiming to carry the momentum into the League Cup tie. Ahead of the game, Ten Hag has confirmed that Luke Shaw, Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount won't be involved for the club.
The trio have returned to training after respective injuries, but the game will come too soon for them. Meanwhile, Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui will need to be assessed by doctors.
The duo picked up knocks in the victory over the Saints on the road. Ten Hag is hopeful that the pair will be available for the upcoming Cup game against Barnsley, who are currently in League 1
