Manchester City have been handed a huge injury blow following the Premier League draw against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.
The Cityzens played out a thrilling 2-2 draw against the Gunners yesterday, but the game also witnessed an early substitution for Rodri.
The Spaniard was taken off with a knee concern and it is now revealed that he has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The setback is expected to keep him out of action for the entire campaign and it could be a huge blow for the Cityzens this term.
City have looked vulnerable without Rodri in their midfield and they have suffered five defeats in the last 10 games without him.
On the other hand, the club have not lost any of their last 55 games (without penalties included) with Rodri playing for them.
City face a huge challenge on their hands in the coming months, considering they can't pursue a replacement until January.
The Premier League holders face a tricky test at Newcastle United this weekend. It won't be a straightforward game for them.
