Liverpool manager Arne Slot has provided a fresh update on Diogo Jota's injury following the 2-1 Premier League win over Chelsea at Anfield.
The Portugal international was substituted midway through the opening half against the Blues. He was spotted in pain after suffering a knock to his ribs.
Speaking after the game, Slot said he has no idea over what happened to Jota and added that the 27-year-old is now doubtful to face Leipzig on the road.
He said: "Diogo had to be substituted and I am not sure what it is, but I’d be surprised if he is there on Wednesday."
Liverpool have had a tremendous start to the campaign under their new manager and they are top of the Premier League with 21 points.
The Merseyside giants face Leipzig on the road in the Champions League in midweek before travelling to Arsenal in the top-flight on Sunday.
Both games are far from straightforward, but the fans will be anticipating that the club will come on top with strong attacking performances.
